The Visiting Fellowship enables academic visitors, including senior researchers, Ph.D. candidates and post-doctoral academics, to undertake a period of research at the Centre for the Study of European Contract Law (CSECL). These researchers can do research within one of the research areas of CSECL, being in an advanced stage of their research. Sufficient knowledge of the English language is required.
Visiting Fellows will enjoy the following facilities during their stay:
- access to the University's extensive library collection of more than 4 million publications, with over 12,000 current journals and an impressive digital collection (on-line access to a large number of leading periodicals and case law, including Westlaw International). The Faculty of Law includes a UN depository library and maintains the European Documentation Centre. More details can be found on the website of the Faculty of Law Library (see link);
- use of a working space in the Faculty of Law with a computer and printer facilities;
- Internet and mail account access within the UvA web domain;
- participation in regular lecture series, research meetings, seminars and conferences, organized by CSECL;
- supervision by one or more members of CSECL, consisting of a limited number of meetings (for junior researchers only);
The duration may, in principle, vary from two months up to a maximum of 6 months, preferably during the academic year (i.e. September - June).
In order to assist with administrative costs (including working space, use of computer facilities and administrative assistance), visiting fellows are charged a fee of EURO 50,- per calendar month, for each month of their stay in Amsterdam.
