As of 1 january 2010 Habtamu Alemayehu is a researcher at the csecl for the period of 1 year. Currently he is seized with a research theme focusing on the harmonization of business law in West African states. In particular he explores the Draft Ohada Uniform Act for the harmonization of contract law in the Ohada member African states, as drafted and presented by UNIDROIT Study Group.
Originally from Ethiopia, Habtamu has studied history at Addis Ababa University. In the year 2001 he also completed a master's program at the University of Amsterdam specializing in Public International Law. Aiming to further consolidate his international legal skills in wider fields, he successfully added a master's law degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in July of 2009, specializing in International Commercial and Trade law.
Before joining the csecl, Habtamu has worked as a Legal Assistant for one of the largest law firms in the Netherlands, Nautadutilh. Habtamu is father of two children.
